Things Overheard While Voting...

Things I overheard this morning while voting:

"I love that Sarah Palin. She believes everything I do. I'm so lucky."

"I'm just voting the way God told me to vote."

"I saw on the TV this morning, there were long lines in Detroit already, before the polls even opened."
"Really? What color were they?"
"It was Detroit, what color do you THINK they were?"
"Jeez, are you sure it wasn't the welfare line?"

Wow. Me, I just stood in line with my lips zipped until I could get out of there. The kids are off school for 'voting day' so we were tag-team voting.

I got home and told Michael. He was still in the shower.
Sticking his wet head out, he exclaimed, "Are you making this up?"

Right.

Like I could make this stuff up!? Like I have to?
Go vote.
Who knows what you're going to overhear!?

I overheard the same comment about Sarah Palin. I had to caution my daughter to not speak, not to say anything because I was afraid she'd tell the person how crazy she thought they were.

Our kids are off today too. I was kind of glad to have them with me so they could be a part of it. They were pretty excited.

Since I've got a nice, liberal rep in our town, it was kind of funny to see the expressions of several of the Rs hanging around as I walked up. Shoot, she actually made it.

Wow. Just wow. Indeed, one would be hard-pressed to make this stuff up. ::sigh::

I just wandered over from NaBloPoMo and was drawn here by your small farming dreams and the echo that those aspirations have for my wife and me. We're looking for our future homestead right now.

I also, in your other posts, love the pictures of your adorable children. My wife and I look forward to having our own some day, hopefully sooner rather than later.

Best of luck to you!

I found your blog on NaBloPoMo too. I'm disapointed, but not at all surprised, by what you overheard. My son has heard the same thing at school, which is sad.

I am so jealous of your 6 acres! We have a tiny yard but dream of some acreage one day, hopefully.
