If we'd stayed another month, we would have had a full harvest... Oh well. At least I know I can grow a garden!
Look at those tomatoes! Only half of them ripened by the time we had to harvest... anyone know how to make fried green ones? lol
Little baby cabbage - not even enough to make saurkraut!
Yummy broccoli!
And cherry tomatoes!
And pole beans...
And cucumbers...
The pumpkins were growing, but didn't get time enough to get big...
Neat to see what a pumpkin starts out as, though, isn't it?
Oh, well... there's always next year!

Yum!!! I would wait until no one is looking and run over there and steal those yummy treats. But that's just me ;)
Fried Green Tomatoes
Slice the tomatoes(keep the skin on ) salt and pepper to taste
Take one egg and beat it as if you were making scrambled eggs (leave in bowl)
dip one slice at a time into the egg mixture, then gently cover in flour or some kind of corn meal mix like the kind used for battering chicken or fish
I prefer the flour and it is the "old fashioned southern way of cooking them"
Heat a small amount of oil (just enough to cover the slices) in a skillet.
Cook until brown on both sides
Serve while hot
ENJOY
Fried green tomatoes are AWESOME! I did it a few years ago when we had an early frost and they are good. The recipe above basically is it. Make sure you sprinkle a little kosher salt on them while they're still warm from the frying...they are sooooo good.
It would break my heart to leave that garden! Go back and get the yummies!
