13 Things We Really Don't Do Much Anymore
3. Call “Information”
4. Re-fold a road map (thank you Mapquest!)
5. Get “Trip Ticks” from AAA (thank you again Mapquest!)
6. Shop from catalogs (Can you say "Ebay?")
7. Make sure I have enough cash in my purse on Friday before the bank closes
9. Get up to turn the dial to change the channel on the TV
11. Let the kids ride in the back of a pickup truck
12. Send the ten-year-old to the corner store to buy cigarettes for their parents (Did anyone else's mom and dad do this?)

OMGosh - you are so right on!! Great TT list -- the TV dial. That's a really good one. *giggling* Mine's up! (f/k/a Rhonda - I'm Running To Win Two)
Wow, a trip down Memory Lane. Great idea for a list, I really enjoyed it.
My TT gives you 13 quotes by His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
Ah, memories! I can remember the days before remote controls. And of only having one TV in the house!
Time passes by too quickly. :) Happy Thursday! :)
I can so relate to all of this even the cigs. Yep, I did that too. What a great walk down memeory lane. Have a wonderful TT. :)
We're still doing about half the things on your list. Happy TT.
I have vague recollections of going to the drive-in when I was really little. I do remember that I would be wearing my PJs so I'd be ready for bed when I got home.
We're hayseeds who still do the spuds the long way! Other than that, though, we're with the times. We have a friend whose cell rings like a rotary! His little kids just don't get why that amuses us. Great list. Thanks for the fun.
There IS a store near here that sells penny candy for a penny. I don't get up that way often, and we really aren't a candy-eating family, so it's sort of moot.
But the rest? Yeah, I remember doing a lot of that stuff. I'm not going to say what, though!
This was great, fantastic, bravo! I did most of this stuff...
I miss the drive in movies!! They need to come back!
I've done (not recently) all of those. Good gracious what a trip down memory lane!
These were great memories!! Fortunaltely, for me I live about 45 minutes away from a Drive-In that is still working, so I can still go to them, yay!! Man, I miss rotary phones -- always reminds me of my grandma's house. Good list! Happy TT!
At 29 I don't feel old until I read lists like this and I remember all that stuff. LOL!
Oh boy I loved going to the corner store to get my mom cigs. She would give me 2 dollars and I could also a huge bag of penny candy. I loved it. Every saturday morning would be my day to go!! I started going for her when I got my first bike at the age of 5 or 6!! Can you believe it? I would never dream of my kids doing something like that at the age. I was cooking my own dinners at the age of 6 and other stuff. I used to even sometimes have to go and do grocery shopping.
What a good list! It made me feel very nostalgic.
Penny Candy!!! One of my favorite childhood memories!!
I still bake potatoes in the oven. I think they taste better. Of course I scrub them and put olive oil and salt on the skin, so it's more yummy.
Wow, so many things I haven't thought of lately! Great TT!
What a fantastic list - and yes I bought smokes for my mom. My 16 year old son saw a vinyl record and said, "What the heck is this." Made me feel REALLY old! I even remember 8-tracks.
What a wonderful TT. I would love to do # 8, but they are awfully hard to find these days. I dial a rotary phone on a daily basis. My wall phone in the kitchen is an old 60's wall phone. Remember the ones that use to hang on the kitchen wall with the cord stretched out of shape from the user trying to get some privacy? I also have rotary phones on the night stand in two bedrooms. I enjoyed this TT because I really enjoy simpler times. Oh yeah I had to go to the store for cigarettes.
I remember trip ticks--those were so awesome back then and seem pretty lame now! Weird.
Great post. If we remember doing those things, does that make us old?
My parents still have AND USE a rotary phone...
