Reminds me how I used to hear dad talk about all that wasn;t around when he was a kid - we sure have gone through a lot more, think we haven't even noticed!

Technology has gone a long way. I wonder what other improvements /changes will happen?

I love trying to explain to my 21 year old what an 8-track tape is, lol.

Great list.

I'm only 29, but I have a feeling a lot of those didn't exist when I was born either. Man...I feel old!

My Thursday Thirteen is up too! :)

Me, too! I think the pocket calculator came out shortly after, but we must be about the same age.

The pocket calculators started coming out in the late 70s--78 or 79 I'd say--because I remember how expensive they were at first, and I think no one was allowed to use them on tests. That's when I was in high school (!)

And now I've seen my kids get them as Happy Meal prizes. From treasure to trash in 30 years!!

We are probably about the same age because none of these were around when I was born either. I remember when Genesee Bank in Flint got what I believe was its first ATM. It was called "Jenny" and it had a female face and it talked as well... ooh!

It's funny how when CDs started to become popular, many people talked about how great they were because they were so small and take up less space than vinyl. Over the past few years, I have been selling some of my CDs to make more space!

Thanks for visiting my TT! I really enjoyed your list - I may "steal" and do a similar one in the future...it's amazing what we used to live without! But God, without the internet, I think I'd be totally lost at this point!

There's only a couple things on your list that were out when I was born. What did all we kids do without mp3 players and internet?! lol.

Happy TT!

We truly live in strange and wonderful times. I wonder if I'll ever get used to seeing people with a blue tooth stuck in their head, shouting at seemingly no one while they're pushing their grocery cart through the produce section... rather makes them look like lunatics.

Happy TT!! Thanks for visiting my site today.
