Allergies

Well apparently, I'm allergic.

To everything.

I went for allergy testing on Friday. I'm allergic to grass pollen, weed pollen, ragweed pollen, corn pollen (what IS that?) dust mites... and I'm also allergic to dogs. And cats.

Which means we're going to be looking for new homes for our furbabies. :( Wahhhhhhhhhhh!

I'm going to try to keep one - the one who's been with us the longest and sheds the least, our cocker spaniel, Sophie.

And this means my needlephobic not so little behind has to go into the doctor once a week for the next FIVE YEARS to get an allergy shot.

Why did I go get tested again?

Oh yeah... that whole breathing thing. It can be useful, I suppose.

*sigh*

I'm just glad they didn't test me for any food allergies. If they'd found I was allergic to chocolate, I might have just ended it all right there!

What a shame to have all those allergies! Seems to me, with the pollen allergies, getting rid of the critters isn't going to make a whit of difference! Buy a gross of Claritin and keep them!
Oh, and what is this going to do to your chicken plans? The Bag Lady is a transplanted city girl who had chickens for awhile...if you'd like her take on it, just ask!

The good news is, I'm not allergic to feathered things... just furry things! :)

It isn't the chickens themselves that will give you problems - the Bag Lady was thinking more in terms of feeding them, and the straw for bedding, etc. Of course, you have children to do the dirty work of feeding, and cleaning coops and what-not, right? It will build character in your kids!!

Awww, i'm sorry you have to find homes for your pets. They can't stay once you get on allergy meds?

OH NO! I would be so bummed out if I had to find new homes for my furry babies. EEK! Hope it works out okay for all of you.

Are you feeling better?

Hugs,
Lisa

Well, I'm keeping one... the meds don't seem to help much... I'm hoping the shots will work, but it's a 5 year program!
